Saturday's Children's Crafts and Educational Activities
Children can choose from numerous creative and educational
stations. Wakulla Springs State Park and Wakulla County
Extension Office will host a Children's Craft Tent,
with various hands-on creative activities. Florida State
University's Sea to See program will be on hand with touch
tanks and information about Florida's sea life. The
Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science will
have hands-on activities and animals visiting from the museum.
Saturday's Learning Stations
These
stations include Wetlands Working for Wildlife, where
you can explore the importance of wetlands; Aquatic Health,
a dock-side station where you can see a variety of creatures
from the Wakulla River; Pointless Personal Pollution,
which uses the "Enviroscape" to illustrate our impact on the
environment; Birds of a Feather, where you can get
answers to questions about birds; and Mist Netting and Bird
Banding, where mist nets are temporarily suspended to
catch birds so an identification number can be placed on their
leg to help learn more about migration and our local birds.
