Fishing continues to be good in our area and plenty of trout are being caught on the flats as well as out in 14 and 15 feet of water. The Berkley Gulp in the 3 and 4 inch sizes fished under the Cajun Thunder is what most folks use now because the shrimp have moved offshore and live shrimp won’t be available until the first of August. Offshore fishing for grouper continues to be good and plenty of red snapper and amberjack are being caught. Live or dead bait on your favorite rock or live bottom in 65 to 75 feet of water should produce fish. Remember to use circle hooks when fishing for reef fish. Know your limits and be sure and leave a float plan with someone before heading out for a day on the water. Good luck and good fishing! Capt. Jody Campbell
